The International Karting Commission (CIK-FIA), together with the Fédération Française du Sport Automobile, is holding the first "International Handikart Trophy" in Essay on 1 and 2 June as part of the CIK-FIA Talent and Academy Trophies.
This event is the first ever international competition reserved for drivers with reduced mobility. To make this meeting is a big success, each ASN must support the club organising the event, the Association Sportive de Karting K61, by widely distributing the attached introductory booklet to the drivers concerned.
This karting event is open to Drivers holders of an International C licence of Karting accompany by an appropriate medical certificate.
In 2011 and 2012, the Fédération Française du Sport Automobile held a French Handikart Cup. These two events were a great success with the public and the media. The competition was of a high quality and the number of drivers is continually increasing.
Drivers are taking part in handikart events in a number of countries, including Brazil, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and Germany. Several foreign drivers have expressed an interest in taking part in this first International Handikart Trophy.
To ensure that this event will be accessible to as many drivers as possible, the organiser of the Trophy has set up a rental service of specially designed karts with technical assistance. Competitors can rent a kart for the whole of the competition week in order to train for the final event.
