TYRES FREE OF CHARGE FOR ALL U18, ACADEMY, KF2, KF3, KZ1 & KZ2 DRIVERS!

The designation of single-Suppliers of tyres within the framework of most CIK-FIA Championships perfectly fulfils the roles which the Federation has always wanted to assign to this procedure: striving towards the best possible equal opportunity and towards cost reduction. The latter aim has been fully reached: for each of the six categories concerned by the tenders issued by the FIA for 2011, all the Drivers will benefit from free racing tyres! And to this exceptional promotion the tyre Manufacturers concerned even add rewards for the top finishers in the form of prize money and sets of new tyres.

Dunlop has been chosen by the World Motor Council to be the single-Supplier of tyres for the CIKFIA KZ1 and KZ2 Championships. All the Drivers will receive free of charge their slick and «wet weather» tyres to be used in the qualifying practice and heats as well as in the final phase. They will only have to buy tyres for non-qualifying practice held prior to the events, but at a competitive cost (147 euros/set of slicks). The top category of gearbox, KZ1, will benefit from the best-performing tyres of the range homologated by Dunlop, i.e. «soft» (tender) tyres, for its European Championship and World Cup. KZ2 Drivers taking part in the European Championship, in their new World Cup, in the Viking Trophy and Monaco Kart Cup will be fitted with «Medium» compounds.

 To supply the KF2 and KF3 categories, the FIA World Council has selected the tyre Manufacturer Vega and his «Medium» (KF2) and «Hard» (KF3) tyres. All the Drivers will receive free of charge their slick and «wet weather» tyres to be used in the qualifying practice and heats as well as in the final phase. They will only have to buy tyres for their non-qualifying practice, at the special price of 142 euros/set. Vega will set up their tyre distribution service in the European Championship, World Cup and Viking Trophy of each category, as well as in the Asia-Pacific Championship and Monaco Kart Cup for KF3.

For the supply of tyres in the «U18» World Championship and Academy Trophy the FIA World Council has designated LeCont. For the Italian tyre Manufacturer, who has had international homologations for 15 years and has already been a single-Supplier within the framework of several national championships and series, this will be the first official involvement in the CIK-FIA Championships. 

LeCont will supply his products on a free basis to all the Drivers for the qualifying practice and heats as well as for the final phase of each of the three events, scheduled for Italy (Ortona), France (Essay) and Bahrain. Tyres reserved for non-qualifying practice will be sold at the special price of 149 euros/set.
